Junior Software Support Engineer

Job Description

A talented and self-motivated Junior Software Support Engineer is required by an ambitious, high-growth technology SME, specialising in delivering Digital Solutions for Rail, based from Home/Lichfield (Staffordshire UK). This is a great opportunity for a Graduate or someone early in their career to join this passionate and supportive team and make a real difference. Working cross-functionally alongside Software Development and Customer Success colleagues, you’ll have the opportunity to gain valuable experience across a range of innovation and digital transformation projects.

Candidates  MUST be UK based (Please see details of remote working requirements below).

Nice to Have:

  • Good grasp of Microsoft Office
  • Data literate with a foundation in critical thinking and/or more technical data analysis and visualisation skills
  • Understanding of relational and non-relation databases
  • Experience of working with C# and React
  • Experience with helpdesk/ticketing software (e.g. Freshdesk)

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Work across the application support lifecycle to ensure processes, tools and reporting capabilities are fit to scale
  • monitoring and prioritising support tickets and working closely with Software Development colleagues to triage and resolve issues.
  • Work with Customer Success colleagues to provide support desk insights to improve onboarding, adoption and growth of new and existing clients

*Typically there is a requirement to get together nominally 1 day/week (Wednesday) in Lichfield, Staffs to collaborate on projects and support client visits as required, so the ability to travel within the UK is essential.

Salary: £25,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
